OT: Tensile strength of steel
|
| |
This is not really electronics, but most of us are engineers here. Right? I need to estimate the tensile strength of a steel bar of 25mm width and 1mm thick. Do I have the numbers correct? Using low end estimate of 400MPa steel. 400 MPa = 400,000,000 Newton / sq. meter 25mm x 1mm = 0.025 * 0.001 = 0.000025 sq. meter... more »

I seem to have a recurring need for 1" cubes to use as small equipment cases. Things like a little basic circuitry in a lead, and various other very small & simple apps. What do you use for jobs like this? cheers

removing condenser mic from a PDA and modifying circuit for line-in ?

Mainly I want to plug a standard stereo headphone output (from iPod/cellphone/walkman/etc) although it would be cool to be able to connect a line-level out from... more »

Buried in the article is that the lowest point was LAST year... arctic sea ice is actually increasing after hitting a minimum. Fuckin' liberals :-( ...Jim Thompson... more »
